These picturesque views. This is a combination of colors. This is the construction of a frame in which a person constantly resonates with the desert and the sky. These are the colorful eclipses of Peter O`Toole. All this elevates the film, brightening up not the most pleasant topics. There is greatness and a large share of understatement in this, which captivates the viewer.

The secret of this film is not at all in an elegant script or an interesting plot. They are not at all perfect: long timing, a lot of characters, another cultural reality. And the topic itself is not easy. The more interesting is the riddle of such unconditional public recognition of this tape. More than three hours of timing is not so simple for the mass audience.

However, if we take into account the visual part, then this is a magnificent film. A man against the background of nature, overcoming and rising above it, over circumstances - this is a deep American theme. It was these westerns that the United States lacked. And "Lawrence of Arabia" very accurately took the missing place in the pantheon of glory.

It is no coincidence that in many other films that became cult, events and images from the David Lean film were somehow played out. Yes, even “Star Wars” take for example - 4 episode. A significant part of the visual breakthroughs of the film is actually calcified. The same endless desert and the leadership of a person overcoming difficulties.

And in this is the great success of the picture.

The second such success, in my opinion, is the choice of the leading actor. Peter O`Toole is a sophisticated, technically gifted craftsman. But, in the universe of David Lean, his arsenal acquires something more - it becomes an integral part of the landscape. Depression, sorrow, aggression - all these differences are presented very accurately.

As for the shortcomings of the tape, there are plenty of them too. First of all, they are associated with the image of Arab tribes. And despite the fact that Lawrence seems to be defending their rights, all the same, in their mass they are shown too unsightly. And this is the stigmatization of other nations, which is traditional for Western cinema.

There are many questions in the part of the narrative. The storyline transitions are not too elaborate and in the story itself there are many failures.

But, all these issues are not at all important here. The desert, Peter O`Toole, covered in blood, clutching a pistol in oblivion. His eyes stare forever with a glass look. It is such sketches that magnify this picture.
