Directed by Peter Berg, it seems, decided to concentrate fully on the films made based on real events. And in each of these works, he invariably removes Mark Wahlberg. After the military drama "Survivor", two films have already appeared, where this tandem takes place - this is, respectively, the "Deepwater Horizon" about the terrible ecological disaster in the Gulf of Mexico and "Patriot Day" - about the terrorist attack during the Boston marathon, which took several years back.

We can say that Berg, they say, is following a simple path and shoots the same person who will not say no to him, but it is worth noting that the director himself chooses a variety of projects - here the taste of the viewer and the drama of the ruptured special operation in the Middle East, and the film is a disaster, and a movie about terrorists. Wahlberg, by the way, also plays different characters - a soldier of an elite squad, a decent family man and a master of his craft, and then a cop, sometimes exceeding his official powers.

If you pay attention to the "Patriots Day" - this movie is a semi-artistic semi-documentary presentation of those events that occurred in Boston, Massachusetts in April 2013. the preparation of the terrorist act itself, the lives of people who are directly or indirectly related to it, the process of investigation, the capture of criminals - all this is presented not only in the manner of the feature film, but also through the prism of journalistic chambers and through photos of eyewitnesses. That is, in Patriots Day there is an element of certainty. Even the moment of detention of Dzhokhar Tsaranaev, hiding in a boat under the tarpaulin, duplicates the real shots of the shooting, because the very position of the boat where he was hiding, and even the clothes in which he was at that time almost completely identical. This can not but rejoice.

Naturally, in any film there is a discrepancy with reality. I will not insist, because I did not particularly follow the whole story, but the moment of the shooting of the Tsaranaevs with the police in one of Boston's sleeping areas - if it really happened in this way - with the use of homemade bombs in large numbers - it's cool that Berg took into account everything, If the explosions were from 1-2 strength, then this fact can be attributed to making the film more spectacular.

At the end of the film, there are also documentary footage and interviews of witnesses of the terrorist attack - apparently, people continue to live, are surrounded by care and love and try to forget about that terrible day, although the severe mutilations constantly remind of it ... The only thing that the words of one of the respondents, the fact that "do not meddle with us and we will not climb others". The controversial phrase.

A little illogical seemed the story of the hero Mark Wahlberg and his wife. It is clear that the film lacked human relations, but to weave in the case of the explosion at a mass event, the personal problems of the Sanders family are also somehow strange.
