World War II, in German-occupied France, a group of Jewish American soldiers instills fear in the Nazis by brutally killing and scalping soldiers.
Inglourious Basterds 4K ReviewThe American government is assembling a detachment of Jewish avengers "Inglourious Basterds", who in occupied France create horrors on German communications, kill German soldiers and officers and cut their scalps. Sometimes, very rarely, they release the prisoners, but then the head of the detachment, Brad Pitt with a disgusting mustache and protruding jaw, like Marlon Brando's, carves a swastika on their forehead with a giant knife, so that after the war anyone can recognize them as a Nazi. At the same time, in a Parisian cinema owned by a Jewess Shoshanna Dreyfus (she is hiding under a French name), the Germans are going to premiere the propaganda film "Pride of the Nation", about a sniper who killed 300 enemies with his trusty rifle. Shoshanna's parents were killed by the SS and she dreams of revenge. "Bastards" dream of revenge. The premiere promises to be enchanting.
Tarantino is a person who is pleasant to deal with. He never hides anything, all at a glance. Back in 2004, opening the retrospective "Italian Kings B-movie" at the Venice Festival, he confessed his love for the Italian thrash metal of the 60s and 70s. And personally to the films of Enzo Castellari, who shot Inglourious Basterds in 1978 - the story of four American soldiers who, during the war, instead of a military prison, where they were taken for numerous crimes, were sent on a mission to capture a warhead for the fascist V-2 ... After watching the Tarantino version, Castellari ardently denied himself, saying that he had made a completely original independent film. And for those who doubt it, Tarantino included in his tape a scene where film critics are shot in the balls.
Original or not, Inglourious Basterds promises to be the most lucrative neoclassical painting. There is plenty of everything: Brad Pitt and his jaw, a soldier nicknamed the Gid-Bear with a baseball bat and painted sad eyes (played by Eli Roth), psychopathic Til Schweiger, Colonel Hans Landa, sadist and fetishist, SS detective, cynic and villain ( he is played by the Austrian Christoph Waltz, who received the Cannes prize for this role), the death of a film critic, the death of cinema in the flame of Jewish revenge. The dialogues are still dizzying, swinging, in addition, in a swing of the four languages in which the film was filmed. The charade game ends in one of the most absurd and cruel movie shootings, the movie game leads to endless mentions of Pabst and Clouseau, and the film turns out to be good for more than just entertainment. And after the blazing finale, the film cannot end with anything but an explosion in the hall - not dynamite or something just as dangerous, but a joyful internal audience scream.
We also yelled, what is already there. It is still interesting to watch such a large-scale wrestling - who will break his neck: Quentin Tarantino to the myth of war or the military myth to Quentin Tarantino. Risking eggs, we note that the account turned out to be ambiguous - for two and a half hours the magician and the magician growling kicking a dead lion. Looking at "Inglourious Basterds" you clearly understand - the new "Boat" / Boot, Das / (1981) or "Iron Cross" / Cross of Iron / (1977) today is no longer possible to remove.
Well, the feeling of regret that now only "Bastards" are possible does not interfere with rejoicing at all.
