Dark Phoenix 4K is a super movie download. The events of the picture will unfold almost 10 years after the "X-Men: Apocalypse" - in 1992. Mystic (Jennifer Lawrence), The Beast (Nicholas Holt), Storm (Alexandra Shipp), The Night Serpent (Cody Smith-McPhee) and Mercury (Evan Peters) will try on the role of national heroes that is unusual for them. Meanwhile, the ambitions of their leader Charles Xavier (James McEvoy) are growing at an unprecedented rate (the professor even got on the cover of Time magazine), so he sends his mutant students to increasingly dangerous and extreme missions. During one of them, the X-Men find themselves in space, where as a result of a surge of solar energy in Gene Gray (Sophie Turner), an ominous force awakens - Phoenix.
Dark Phoenix 4K ReviewAfter the events of the Apocalypse, Charles Xavier's school for gifted teens is booming. Professor X (James McEvoy) is in full swing attending ceremonies and shaking hands with the president, while his wards amicably save the inhabitants of the planet. But one day, young mutants go on a mission in outer space, which is getting out of control. As a result, Gene Gray (Sophie Turner) almost dies and becomes the receptacle of a dangerous cosmic entity that multiplies her abilities. Unable to cope with them, she threatens the lives of her loved ones and puts discord in the team. In 2006, a very similar story was already unfolding in the X-Men UHD movie universe, but was later erased from the story “Days of the Past Future”. In The Last Battle, written by Simon Kinberg, director of The Dark Phoenix, Gene Gray flew the reels the same way and turned into a first-class killing machine. True, this time, not without outside interference - the heroine of Jessica Chastain, an alien named Smith, is pouring oil into the fire of rebirth. But even this does not help to avoid the secondary effect. Good mutants become bad, bad ones become good, and in the end they all come together in the final battle, which, although it ends with the victory of good over evil, still leaves behind a slight devastation. The Dark Phoenix resembles a rather crumpled, awkward and too dramatic farewell, after which you want to breathe a sigh of relief, rather than cry. After the Disney / Fox deal, we are unlikely to again see the bromance of McEvoy and Fassbender, hairy Nicholas Holt and deftly rescuing Evan Peters. And speaking of the latter, the famous moment of the mercury run was sacrificed for excess melancholy and a much darker atmosphere than in previous films. Thus, the film lost two of the most worthwhile minutes that could at least somehow cheer up the viewer after long and not the most fascinating dialogs. Clarification of relations this time significantly prevails over the action. From this, the degree of epicity of battle scenes rises slightly in contrast. This time in the film, two memorable fights: the initial in space and the final in the train. You can safely close your eyes to everything in the middle - the Dark Phoenix loses nothing in the plot from this.
Losses are only the mutants, whose screen time was cut in favor of the heroine Sophie Turner. Before the suffering Sansa Stark was reborn from the ashes to become a multifaceted Phoenix, she remained grieving with a serious face and a distant look. Even Jessica Chastain, who as an antagonist does not stand out, does not save the situation. Her character does not play a significant role in the development of the plot - Miss Gray would have found a reason to turn to the dark side without someone else's parting words. As a result, the first film of the X-Men UHD universe with a focus on female characters loses a lot.
An attempt to make a complex psychological picture, inspired by the success of Logan, turned into a failure. Mutants have always been outsiders within both their own universe and the world of movie comics. Simon Kinberg created another outsider, the Dark Phoenix, which, apart from the first Wolverine soloists, became the weakest of all the X-Men UHD.
