It seems that director Jay Oliva is forever entrenched in the eyes of fans as a ray of light in the dark realm of the DC comic book version. In my humble opinion, only he is currently capable of producing pretty good results. Yes, maybe they are not always so perfect, but nevertheless, for some guys everything turns out even worse. It is now, I look in the direction of the “Killing joke”, which was destroyed and destroyed by Sam Lew literally last year. If the film version of this work was given to Oliva, then with a high degree of probability, with such a primary source, it would just turn out to be candy. But oh well, you should not despair, Oliva is still regularly releasing his new paintings, which already for several years in a row seems to be not going anywhere.
The plot of the Dark League of Justice League Dark 4K at this time fully focuses not on the standard group of heroes, which are guys like Superman, Wonder Woman or Flash. All of them will be pushed very far, beside Batman, who in this work is a connecting bridge between separate universes - the universe of the League of Justice and the universe of John Constantine. Together, in a small group, they will have to counter the mass hysteria that causes hallucinations in people that can be fatal.
Frankly, in my opinion, to combine Batman and Constantine into one work, almost certainly was not the easiest task, because they are so different and the cycle of comics about each of them differs just dramatically. But nevertheless, specifically in the new picture of Oliva, everything looks pretty organic. But most importantly - within the framework of the available duration, Oliva manages to talk about Constantine, in order to at least somehow familiarize the audience with the universe of his character. The local team of superheroes was certainly not as colorful as the permanent composition of the Justice League Dark 4K, but nevertheless, it still causes some interest, because not every day you can see one or another adaptation of Constantine, and in the DC universe it is extremely rare to find such a strong emphasis on magic, but specifically here it is just huge. In the finale, the spectator is waited by pretty interesting magical fights, in which even Batman takes the most mediocre part.
As a result - in no way should one pass by the “Dark League of Justice”. Yes, she is certainly unlike other works about the Justice League, because she tells us in general about other characters who are extremely rare guests in the possessions of Superman or the same Batman. It is worth watching, just at least for the sake of this very interaction, and also for the sake of really well-staged magical fights, which are here in principle enough with interest. And if Zatanna or the Swamp monster is not a fundamental criterion for you, then in my opinion, the presence of Constantine should ignite at least a bit of curiosity.
