A real story about Miami-based buddies, who managed to knock out a $ 300 million contract at the Pentagon for the supply of weapons.
Do you know that...At first the film was called just like the book by Guy Lawson, on which he was shot, "Guns and dudes."
The poster for the film is a parody of the famous poster for the crime drama Brian De Palma "Scarface" (1983), on which the main characters of the movie "War Dogs" are constantly referenced.
In order to conspiracy during the filming in Miami, the film was called "AK-47"
Reviews - War Dogs The film "War Dogs" aroused my interest in many ways thanks to the cast of actors. Jonah Hill and Miles Teller are some of my favorite actors. The first has long proved that he is able to perfectly play both comedy and serious roles. The second one caught me because of my amazing game in my favorite painting "Obsession". To look at their duet was extremely curious.
Actor's work did not disappoint at all. Especially surprised John Hill, who in this tape really surpassed himself. He masterfully fit into his role as a cunning and eccentric guy who trades weapons. Miles Teller also plays quite well, but still fades in the background of John Hill, who steals every scene of his own. Ana De Armas in the role of Iz and Bradley Cooper in the role of Henry are good at coping with their roles, but they can not remember anything especially because of the fact that their characters are given quite a bit of screen time.
With the characters everything turned out controversially. It seems that between the heroes of Teller and Hill, chemistry is felt, it is extremely interesting to observe their interaction, yet they do not want to really empathize. In many dramatic moments, I remained indifferent to what could happen to the characters. The characters of the main characters, although they turned out to be interesting and versatile, they did not cause much sympathy. The second heroes left a neutral impression, again due to the fact that they were given very little screen time.
The plot was generally good. Plus it consists that at viewing it can cause very various emotions. If in the beginning the story seems cheerful and easy, then by the end it becomes much more serious and even slightly gloomy.
It's also not difficult to notice that in the plot plan "War Dogs" strongly resemble Martin Scorsese's band "The Wolf from Wall Street". Similar not only some plot twists, but sometimes even specific scenes. If you compare these two bands, then "War Dogs" still lose. This film can sometimes seem boring when the "Wolf from Wall Street" looks with great interest due to its dynamic narrative. "
War Dogs" came out better than Scorsese's tape only in terms of the fact that there is more time devoted to the business of heroes, when in "The Wolf from Wall Street" the emphasis was put on the luxuries of the lives of the rich.
Humor in "The guys with the trunks" is less than it might seem from the trailer. However, he is still very good here. The jokes in the picture are often able to cause laughter in your voice. Some episodes turn out to be both funny and tense (for example, the scene of the chase in the desert), which allows you to experience an even more varied palette of emotions.
I want to praise the musical accompaniment. The songs selected in the film came out memorable and unlike each other. Some of them were remembered so much that they had a desire to find them and listen again.
As a result, the film "
War Dogs" can disappoint, if you expect from him, in the first place, comedy. But if we consider the tape as a criminal biopic, it came out soundly. Despite its shortcomings, the film makes pleasant impressions in large part thanks to an excellent acting game (especially from John Hill), because of which the picture still deserves a positive evaluation.
