During the Dark Age, a young werewolf named Lucian leads a rebellion against the cruel vampire king Victor. Lucian is joined by his secret beloved Sonya. The confrontation between Lucian and Victor results in a centuries-old feud between ghouls and werewolves, their former slaves.
Underworld: Rise of the Lycans 4K ReviewThe mutant werewolf Lucian (Michael Sheen), almost adopted by the ghoul king Victor (Bill Nighy) for his useful ability to control animal instincts, falls in love with the royal daughter Sonya (Rhona Mitra) and begins to defend her from wild tribesmen with such enthusiasm that he quickly falls out of favor and ends up in a damp dungeon. Heart motives, superimposed on the long-ripening idea of ridding their people of the power of bloodsuckers, ignite a national liberation war against vampires werewolves, the consequences of which Michael Sheen and Kate Beckinsale will unravel in the first and second parts of "Another World". "Spartacus werewolf", as Shakespeare wrote it, but rewritten by Bram Stoker.
The complex backstory of vampires and werewolves, who control the higher (high-tech) and lower (common people) energies, respectively, in the modern world, has been repeatedly presented in the first series and the sequel to the franchise, moreover, with such a patter that you can make out on the fly who, by whom and to whom are all these Viktors, Lucians and Corvinuses, and what they, in fact, did not share in the "dark ages", was rather difficult. In the prequel, everything more or less falls into place and again agrees with the data of history, in this case, the Middle Ages. The bloodsuckers in charge of feudalism guard people from werewolves for tithes in silver. Werewolves guard the sleep of vampires from the surrounding citizens. Vampires crowning the food pyramid draw juices from both. In general, the simple work of filling in empty squares and making ends meet without hesitation was shifted from the soul of Len Wiseman's project to a certain Patrick Tatopoulos, who was responsible for special effects in Another World. In turn, the soul of the project, which drove the first two parts, was content with the role of a producer: in Another World, everything is already so much on the ointment that there was no point in directing the process directly - all that was left was to press the buttons.
Is there any point in going to the prequel to "Another World" for those who missed the first and second episodes - the question is correct, but since few people missed them at one time, it is rather rhetorical. Yes, Beckinsale, wrapped in latex, no matter how much they puzzled, they did not come up with a role in the prequel - it's a pity, of course, but her Selena was not yet born at that time, and who, writing "Another World" in 2003, was sure that the project will reach the third part? On the other hand, the British fashion model, sporting Mithra in chain mail, also wants to donate a couple of liters of blood, if you look at the girl from the right angle. The acting work in general turned out to be at a height in the prequel: the bloodsucking king of Bill Nighy came out downright Shakespearean, the werewolf Michael Sheen is also good, who, as it recently turned out, knows how not only to tear enemies, like Tuzik a hot water bottle, but also to conduct smart conversations with the president Nixon.
But the most remarkable thing is that the whole prequel was kept within humane eighty minutes: it seems that this is quite a gentleman's taking of time from the population so that the population put an end to this dark matter.
