Prisons are designed to isolate individuals from the rest of the world. However, among the prisoners there have always been daredevils capable of escape. Society has always cherished the dream of building a perfect prison from which it would be impossible to escape. And such a facility was built on an island near San Francisco. The prison was called Alcatraz. For twenty-nine years it was considered the most reliable prison in the United States. Famous thieves, crooks, and even Al Capone himself were imprisoned there. But one day, recidivist Frank Morris was transferred to the maximum-security prison-island of Alcatraz. He had previously escaped from several other prisons. Noticing that the newcomer has a high IQ on his questionnaire, the warden calls him in on his first day and warns him that it is impossible to escape from his institution, but Frank doesn't think so. He was unwilling to serve his court-ordered sentence in the "hospitable" walls and carried out one of the greatest escapes in the history of forensic science.
Escape from Alcatraz 4K ReviewI like 'prison' movies. I like movies with Clint Eastwood. I like movies that aren't boring. I will love this movie forever.
The film just plunges you into this dark atmosphere from the very first minutes. It gets interesting to watch from the very beginning.
Clint Eastwood is as usual. Brutal, strong, calm. I don't think he plays roles in movies. He just plays himself. I think every movie should have Clint in it. At least as an assistant director. If that condition is met, the film is doomed to succeed. And so is this one.
That's the best prison break movie I've ever seen. You follow the characters' actions intently, worry about them, as if they were your relatives or close friends. This is how these films are supposed to be made - with constant tension.
This movie reminds me of 'Escape from Shawshank' with the same theme. Is it possible to compare them? I don't think so. In 'Alcatraz' the main accent was on the escape, and in 'Shawshank' the main aim was to show the character of the hero. So there you go.
That's a great film. A great Clint Eastwood. Watch it for everybody, you won't waste your time.
