Scott Adkins is a fairly well-known representative of this genre. Every year 2-3 films of different quality are released with his participation. From trash that is impossible to watch, and movies, the level is much higher.

We have before us a typical representative of films for one evening. Another film about revenge that we have seen a hundred times. But that's not why we love action movies. Today it is rather difficult for the genre to surprise with something in terms of the plot, so the film should be taken with the staging of the action in particular.

The action begins with a soundtrack somewhat reminiscent of Ennio Morricone's compositions. I would like to note that the film does not start in chronological order, but somewhere in the middle. In the course of the film, the plot and previous events will be shown to us in the form of flashbacks. This does not spoil the impression of the film, quite the contrary. Quite a coup.

Due to the limited budget, there are not many locations in the film. The main action takes place in a pub and prison walls. And just a little on the streets of London.

Actor play. Yes, yes, you heard right, she is here. Scott Adkins doesn't walk the whole movie with a stone face and throws cuffs. Once behind bars, his hero undergoes a transformation. From a simple guy who does not need trouble and who can stand up for himself, he turns into a real beast. He sees the obstacle and he removes it. And it doesn't matter who stands in front of him. We see transformation both internal and external. During his stay in prison, Kane will get involved in a fight more than once, during which our hero will pretty much correct his face. At one point, a comparison with American History X suggests itself. Here we must pay tribute to the make-up artists. Our antihero looks really brutal and terrifying! Initially, the protagonist tries to avoid conflict. But whoever fights with monsters should beware lest he himself become a monster. And if you look into the abyss for a long time, then the abyss also looks into you. ' This is what happens to the character. To survive in this hell, he himself becomes a monster. There are some pretty funny scenes with the warden. When Kane once again, for a fight, is 'called on the carpet' to impose a term, and how his view of this situation changes over time. From anger to indifference.

'Another 5 years? And to hell with him! '

Action. Stable at a high level. Scott can act in an absolutely passable film, but the action in his performance is always good, unless of course he gets the role of the crowd. Drak is a lot. They are very brutal. Broken bones, knocked out teeth. Don't expect tricking. Each action scene is breathtaking, but the final brawl in the pub stands apart. There will be no 1v1 fight with the 'boss' this time. Fights performed by Scott want to watch over and over again. This film is no exception.

An attentive viewer can see in the film several "Easter eggs" related to the previous work of the actor and the film crew.

The picture stands out very much against the background of many of Adkins' rather nondescript films. She is Scott's benefit performance both in fist and acting. No, this is by no means an Oscar nomination or so. Everything is much more modest. The leading character demonstrates emotions and you believe him! So to speak. In terms of coolness and emotions, the character is very close to the cult 'Yuri Boyka'. And it's cooler or not, you decide for yourself.

You might even want to watch this movie again. With time.
