Warlock Shang Zung hosts an interdimensional martial arts tournament where the winner will challenge him for the fate of their home world. A thirsty man takes revenge on him for the death of the family and the Scorpio clan.
Mortal Kombat Legends Scorpions Revenge 4K ReviewI don’t know how many times the story of the first Mortal Kombat tournament was told: there was a film, comics, and it was repeated several times in the framework of the games. But the announcement of the cartoon still aroused great interest among the public - the most vivid picture, coupled with familiar characters and excessive violence, evokes the very feeling of nostalgia that was necessary for the fans of the video game series. Most of the adaptations of Mortal Kombat suffered from a small budget, a frankly weak script and (often) an almost childish rating that did not allow to show all the grotesque and, in many ways, ironic brutality of battles of fighters of the forces of the Earth and the Outer World.
And ... viewers got exactly what the trailers promised! A short, dynamic and sometimes very funny cartoon with a lot of references to the original games (and not only: the Here’s Johnny joke is just great) is the very thing to get maximum entertainment in one evening.
Those who are new to the original, whether it’s a game or a 1995 film, will have a much harder time than franchise lovers. In a good way, the script is very crumpled, the characters' exposition is minimal, and the characters themselves are too caricatured even for the B-movie, the tournament rules, which are explained somewhere in passing and in the course of the plot, are violated repeatedly, the motivation and behavior of some heroes raise many questions ( although there are questions about the presence of some characters in the plot in principle).
Therefore, to advise the cartoon to everyone and everyone is simply pointless.
But if you know who Kitana, Kuan Chi are and what kind of clan this is - Shirai Ryu, then you will definitely get genuine pleasure from exciting fights. And nothing more important in the world of Mortal Kombat does not exist.
