Reviews
A voluminous finale, which is hardly the finale!

Resident Evil is probably the most recognizable game series on zombies. And do not film for such a series of films would be a crime! The first part was quite successful and interesting. The second slightly passed the position, but continued to please the fans of the game. Well, the third disappointed almost everyone. Fans and fans of the game and so from the last forces suffered a variety of deviations from the game series, but in the "Resident Evil 3", the director's independence has passed all the boundaries. In addition, the film itself did not shine with any special quality. But with the series there was something else ... Surely many noticed that with each new movie Resident Evil "evolves" from horror to action. "Resident Evil 1" was a pure horror (though not very scary). In the "Resident Evil 2" added an action. The third part already stood between the genres of horror and action (although still the second there was once in 5 more).

Well, "Resident Evil 4: Life After Death" completely moved to the side of the action. Obviously, a series of films went in the wrong direction, in which fans of the game wanted (and we are with you). Do not forget about the game series "Abode", which by the 5th part also became an action. However, I will not lower the evaluation of the film because of this because it's pointless. The series has changed and this can not be restored. Therefore, in the future I will try not to write about the change in the genre and just talk about the film and the quality of the newfangled 3D format, which is used here.

Honestly, I waited for the fourth part. I waited not only because it was interesting, what will happen next, but also because it is still the continuation of the series of films Resident Evil. I believe that I got exactly what I expected from the film. Many (more precisely, most) will scold this movie for an independent story (which sometimes intersects with the game) and some invented heroes. But you can not blame for this "Resident Evil". Since the release of the trailer it was clear that the movie with the game will have little to do. Therefore, "Resident Evil 4" had to wait only for the sake of 3D (which came here from "Avatar") and the most beautiful special effects. I was expecting this and got it.

So, the actions of the fourth part unfold almost immediately after the finale of the third film. I remind you that at the end of the third part, Alice (Milla Jovovich) finds the base on which her clones grew. And she also promised to comrades from the all-powerful corporation Umbrella that she would come with them along with her new friends. And it happened. Clones of Alice attack the corporation's base in Japan, but are defeated. At the same time, the real Alice is looking for her friends who flew to the safe place of Arcadia. The truth is she finds only Jill, who was not exactly sane. Next, I will not disclose the story because I do not want to spoil your pleasure. I will only say that the "Arcadia" is not-I will say-than. It is also worth noting the ending, which hints at the continuation. It's more correct to say not hinting, but makes it clear that there will be a continuation. They promised that this part was final, and then restarted. Lied.

I promised that my friends will come with me! (Alice)

Now about the similarity with the game. There is a new kind of zombie from the fifth part of the game. The new creatures are like a new race of vampires from the movie "Blade 2" (these are those whose chin moved apart). Only if in the game they were not zombies at all, but the people inside of which live parasites, then there are zombies who can quickly run and dig underground passages. It is impossible not to remember about the Executioner. Here it is an exact game copy. The truth is not in the movie, not in the game, they did not explain where this miracle came from. And now about the most important character. This is Albert Wesker! In my opinion, the villain is better. than Wesker simply does not exist (the Joker from the "Dark Knight" does not count). I, being a big fan of this character, I can definitely say that in the film it is exactly what it should be. Even better than in the game!

The actors play here is good. Separately, I can only mention Shaun Roberts, who plays the same Wesker. He played just perfect. All the others played normally (even Milla Jovovich).

Now about special effects and 3D format. I watched the movie in IMAX 3D and got a huge pleasure. I do not know what all effects look like without volume, but with volume they are chic. I was not found any minus. The final battle is simply amazing. There are perfectly combined, and 3D, and special effects. Needless to say, the battle with Vesker almost completely repeats the battle from the game (5th part). 3D in the movie is gorgeous. After all, the film was filmed by the same cameras as "Avatar". Therefore, there are no endless moments. The volume is always and everywhere. In addition, a combination of special effects, slow-motion shots and 3D will not hit only the tree.

Next about the soundtrack. After watching several fragments before the release of the film, I was angered by music. No, she was good. But just did not fit the action on the screen. However, I got angry early. In the film itself, this soundtrack was very good.

It is worth noting a couple of minuses. I really did not like that my favorite character of the Albert Wesker series was not shown often. It could be seen at the very beginning and in the finale. Another disadvantage is the slight tightness in the middle of the film.

Well, now the result:

Those who still think that "Resident Evil: Afterlife" - a film on the game, can pass by. Rather, it is a film based on the game.

Those who believe that "Resident Evil: Afterlife" - a horror movie or at least a thriller, too, can pass by. The fourth part is a fresh action.

Those who are going to watch the fourth part WITHOUT 3D, too, can pass by. Pleasures you just will not get. Why do not you get it? Yes, because on the "flat" screen, the same slow-motion shooting (which there are many) will look just silly.

Well, those who expect from the "Resident Evil 4" action, high-quality 3D and some characters of the game can take a ticket today.

I try not to scatter scores of 10 points (as many do). But in this case, I will make an exception. And I put this film 10 points for the fact that I got great pleasure. I liked the special effects, I liked 3D.

My score is 10 out of 10 just for viewing in 3D, and only in IMAX. Be sure that the film does not deserve such a point. If you are going to watch the movie under normal conditions, then throw off a few points. "Resident Evil 4" is not for home viewing.

And let the fans of the game series eat me! I'm waiting for the continuation, not restart!
