A film adaptation of the popular Monster Hunter game, the first part of which debuted in 2004. In addition to our world, there is another one: the world of dangerous and powerful monsters who control their reality with deadly ferocity. When Lieutenant Natalie Artemis (Milla Jovovich), along with her loyal soldiers, teleports from our dimension into the universe of monsters, she is faced with a shocking truth. Having entered the war with gigantic and incredibly powerful enemies, Artemis decides to unite with a mysterious person - the Hunter (Tony Jah), who has found a way to repel the monsters.
Monster Hunter 4K ReviewBut it turned out not so bad. I would even say very well. So what? Nothing is overstretched, everything is moderately dynamic, there is no idea or meaning - since this is a screen version of attraction games, where you don't need to think, but you need to run and chop everyone to the right and left. Good and, most importantly, suitable music score. Not annoying pathos. On the screen, the ageless and stunning Milla Jovovich, along with the martial arts master and stuntman Tony Jaa. Cool!
In addition, to all this, in the director's chair, Paul Anderson has shot many beloved films such as Mortal Kombat, Soldier, Resident Evil, and Mortal Race. This guy is a big fan of making simple, light films for ordinary and ordinary viewers.
The only trouble is that this film will not go to many. Because the art of cinematography does not stand still, and with it the directors, if they want to collect the box office and satisfy the demands of the audience. But Anderson is not like that. He does not change himself. It feels like he does not depend on anyone and takes pictures for himself, for the soul. He perfectly understands that his films are stupid and does not try to justify this somehow, trying to push some kind of message into his films. No, he doesn't care. A stupid movie must remain stupid to the very end. This is what I like about this man. True, he does not always succeed.
Therefore, you should not expect anything unusual from viewing. It is worth sitting down and relaxing.
