In the midst of a ruthless desert in the majestic sarcophagus, the daughter of an Egyptian pharaoh is buried, but the day will come and she will return to our world what she rightfully deserves. Henceforth, the world is ruled by gods and monsters.
The Mummy 4K ReviewAnd you also caught yourself thinking that in the near future every major film studio will create its own universe, and when the money becomes as much as Scrooge McDuck, they all come together and we will witness how Thor, resting in the back of Man - Invisible, will literally, plunge into the dust of the hordes of living dead, while Dracula and Wonder Woman spin a little romance?
"The past can not be hidden."
Until the day came when "cinema stopped", there is nothing else left to do but take what is given. Drowning in a multimillion-dollar whining about what it is, it turns out, not a remake of the legendary film of 1999, but some wild game, and supposedly "we did not agree", the "Mummy" lost a lot of its people. On the other hand, the story of the dried up young lady attracted fans of media franchises, who are already climbing the walls waiting for the continuation. As a separate project, Alex Kurtzman's tape is by no means the best action-movie of this year. The image that Tom Cruise built during his long acting career - the only thing that can grab ordinary moviegoer. Paying their money for the ever-running guy, he expects a real "explosive" spectacle. And besides the very spectacular fall of the plane in the very outset of the film and the forest trip somewhere in its middle, the "Mummy" in this regard, can not boast anything else.
"You are alive, because you are cursed!"
With humor here, too, did not work out. It's funny only when it should be scary. And when it should be funny, it becomes sad. Could not you think of something less funny? The joke about one parachute was the one that at least somehow made my sour face smile. Skirmishes between doves and pathos citations that the protagonist is actually not as bad as he presents himself looks very banal and reduces the atmospheric tape. In this regard, the characters created by Stephen Sommers win with a margin - they wanted to empathize. And the cardboard emotions of good actors - the last thing that could come to mind before watching, so I was unpleasantly surprised. Pleasantly surprised by the lack of a lengthy entry, and how the narrative of history with the ease inherent in most of the sitcoms, brings us from one place to another. The dynamics of the tape is well balanced, and this is one of not many advantages of this work. I also note, quite a pleasant color scheme for each single frame.
"Only a different monster can defeat a monster."
Be that as it may, the "Mummy" is the beginning of something truly large-scale. Do not get upset that it did not live up to your expectations, and do not think that the idea from the Dark Universe from the Universal studio is doomed to be a failure. Merge such a treasure that they can only have the last fool. The trend in terms of the success of the pilot films is very noticeable on the example of "The First Avenger" from the studio Marvel, which really is inferior to the subsequent tapes of demigods and billionaires-philanthropists. I very much hope that we are waiting for an exciting continuation, where the characters will be well opened, and the villains will preach not only the banal idea of universal evil, but also something else, attracting the audience with its charisma and versatility. I am sure that such an authoritative film company will be able to take out of this whole lesson and patch up its own holes, to throw into battle all the best that they have in their arsenal. I hope that next time there will be more green reviews, but less red ones. In the meantime, a neutral tip in neutral color.
