Independence Day 1996

On Earth, a signal is sent, sent by a source of clearly unearthly origin. This source is approaching, and the whole planet rises to the "ears". No one, however, did not expect that the aliens would be so huge and in such numbers.

Reviews
In connection with the release of Roland Emmerich's new film "Independence Day: Renaissance", I decided to revise the original film of 1996, so as not to lose any parallels and references to it in the sequel. About the new film and say something really nothing, because he practically retells the first part of the "space" franchise. In the story, the events of the continuation unfold after the events of the first part, but do not carry in themselves anything new, original or inventive, just repeating the same story with minimal changes. Spectacular attack of aliens version 2.0.

But here about the first part of the franchise has something to say. It's not for nothing that the original "Independence Day" became a cult film. He opened people's eyes to the fact that a possible invasion by aliens is a real threat. The director showed guests from other worlds and planets cruel and uncompromising monsters, whose main goal is to destroy all life on Earth. Especially strongly this attitude towards foreign creatures affected people after the "Alien" Steven Spielberg, whose ideology was directly opposite to the thoughts of "Independence Day". And I must say, the views of both directors on aliens have their own logical motives. One should not incline the vision of a decision on this issue in any of the parties, it is necessary to act as the circumstances dictate. Nobody knows what will be the aliens who have reached our planet: evil, as in the "Independence Day", or friendly, as in "Aliens." Therefore, both views on this problem, which one day can declare itself as really existing, have their pros and cons that will need to be combined.

"Independence Day" is a crazy movie attraction, one of the first of its kind (if not the first one). Popkornovy blockbuster, as they say now. Special effects here prevail over common sense, literate plot is almost absent, all characters are cardboard as much as possible. Some story lines cause laughter (saving the president of the United States, for example), although you understand that in the year of the release of the film this was not a cliche, but was even in something new and unique. In general, the plot, the characters - all this is necessary only to tie together the scenes of the destruction of cities, the explosions of countless cars, the demonstration of giant spaceships hanging over American cities. "Oscar" for the best visual effects, by the way, is completely justified. Even now the battle scenes from the film look very attractive, they do not cut, as they say, the eye. I'm not talking about the year 1996, when there was not yet Spielberg's "Artificial Intelligence", nor did Vachovsky, brothers (sorry, sisters), turn the heads of the "Matrix" of the brothers.

Very pleased with the fact that in the "Independence Day" aliens attack not only one chosen one of America, but the whole world. Emmerich, of course, demonstrates only the destruction of the United States (why would an American filmmaker show another country with the money of American producers), but at the beginning of the film, when the government looks at the map showing the trajectories of foreign ships that are updated in real time, that the first ship headed for Moscow. And only the second and third ships took a course, respectively, to western Los Angeles and New York. Why did this fact please me? I do not even know. Maybe because the Internet often joked about the fact that in Hollywood films, aliens attack only the US, completely ignoring other countries. But no, when watching the first "Independence Day" all fans "shake" on this topic is a very unpleasant surprise.
