The Boss Baby 2017

This topical at all times story for adults and children is told on behalf of the seven-year-old brother of the newborn - the dreamer Tim, who is jealous of his parents. But the protagonist is not an ordinary child at all, he has leadership talents, already wears business suits and sees the business problem in everything.

One day, Tim learns about the upcoming plot, whose goal is to destroy love, and organized by his director of the company "Puppy Co". But Tim alone can not stop him. The boy will unite with his "unloved" brother to save his parents and restore order on Earth.

Something recently, DreamWorks is frankly unlucky with cartoons and they are increasingly lagging behind the competitors from Piksar, trying to somehow come close to the former level of quality of their work. In 2017, the studio management relied on the comedy animation "The Boss Baby", but from it one should not expect any special creative achievements in the style of the first two parts of "Shrek" or the trilogy about "Madagascar".

The main hero of the cartoon is a very small karapuz, showing the unique abilities of the leader. While his peers lie day in bed, the young Boss takes the reins of the big company into his own hands, holds meetings, conferences, along the way, furnishing his competitors and returning business to former heights.

In itself, the idea is not bad, but it is unlikely to interest children who are simply not interested in watching business disassembly. In turn, the adults will be sad, since "The Boss Baby" seems to them too naive. Specialists DreamWorks rightly counted on the popularity of the book, the source, but the cartoon showed that not all ideas, perfectly felt on paper, will work perfectly in the cinema.

Of course, "The Boss Baby" is not a failure of the "Mr. Peabody and Sherman" caliber, but we know that DreamWorks can and can shoot good stories without unnecessary excuses. And I very much hope that soon they will reach the former creative orbit.
