The Nun 4K When a young nun commits suicide in a secluded monastery in Romania, the Vatican sends a priest with a hazy past and a novice on the threshold of irrevocable vows to investigate the incident. Together they have to figure out what made the young bride of Christ to commit a terrible sin, and if possible to prevent evil from escaping into the outside world.

The Curse of the The Nun 4K looks like a terrible anachronism against the backdrop of new “smart” horrors like “Reincarnation” or “It” of 2014. Directed by Corinne Hardy as if deliberately returns us somewhere to the top of zero, when it was fashionable to shove about Victorian aesthetics and Christian motifs in every horror film, and screaming with a bunch of “screamer - cry of a hero” was not considered a moral crime. And all because James Wang is a really talented genre director, he can even make a film The Nun 4K with full pockets of clichés that will not be too rejected by his secondary nature. But his abilities as the author of a large franchise are not yet impressive. As soon as Wang releases the fragile formula of "Spells" to someone else, an unintelligible porridge comes out, a common big mythology, rather disturbing, and not complementary. Even a good sequel “Annabel” from David F. Sandberg is felt by the film not very necessary, trifle, secondary from secondary. What can we say about the "Curse of the Nun."

Corin Hardy makes a fatal mistake by concentrating his film around the figure of the Nun - a scary face in makeup, for which there is no special story or character. In “Conjuration” she reflected the doubts of the heroine of Vera Farmigi, and this symbolism, tightly connected with the main characters, gave the monster a necessary aura of horror. "The curse of the nun" over such complex things does not reflect and tries to frighten by the presence of a terrible aunt in a black robe. Even her mysticism towards the end of the film indulges when Hardy makes the Nun absurdly run after the main characters, turning the love of the unknown unknown into horror into a banal fight with a monster showing teeth.

In “Conjuration” the Nun was a function, not a hero — in the “Curse” everything is exactly the opposite. Here, human characters act as functions, single-layered images from some anecdote in the spirit of “a comely nun, brutal exorcist and comedic Frenchman enter an ancient damned temple ...”. Even their ghosts of the past, designed to give the characters a certain amount, are used here solely as a pretext for the next screamer. After that, they are simply forgotten about, the gun remains to hang on the wall, and the heroes return to their usual anecdotal state.
