House Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) has a rare and not entirely legal profession - he and his specially trained assistants infiltrate people's dreams and steal valuable information from there. However, after a not very successful attempt to hack into the subconscious of the Japanese tycoon, Cobb receives a different task from him. In exchange for the right to return to the children in the United States, where the government agencies are looking for the burglar, he must plant the heir (Cilian Murphy) of the monopoly corporation with the idea of breaking this corporation. Deeply puzzled, Cobb begins to gather a team of specialists: from Paris he subscribes an "architect" (Ellen Page) who will have to build a dream, from Mombasa - an "imitator" (Tom Hardy) who will get his slender Cobb partner (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), and at the same time a "chemist" who will put everyone to sleep.

Inception 4K Review
House Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) has a rare and not entirely legal profession - he and his specially trained assistants infiltrate people's dreams and steal valuable information from there. However, after a not very successful attempt to hack into the subconscious of the Japanese tycoon, Cobb receives a different task from him. In exchange for the right to return to the children in the United States, where the government agencies are looking for the burglar, he must plant the heir (Cilian Murphy) of the monopoly corporation with the idea of breaking this corporation. Deeply puzzled, Cobb begins to assemble a team of specialists: from Paris he subscribes an "architect" (Ellen Page) who will have to build a dream, from Mombasa - a "imitator" (Tom Hardy) who will get his slender Cobb partner (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), and at the same time a "chemist" who will put everyone to sleep.

According to legend, Christopher Nolan came up with the idea of "Inception" when he was 16 years old, but to implement it, the director took more than twenty years of practice and one "Black Knight", the fees of which and the studio's keen desire to collect also on the third film about Batman , became sufficient reason to demand 200 million for the original tape about a diesel locomotive rolling along the main streets of New York. And it is not clear what is more surprising here - that millions have given or that millions of these films, most likely, will repulse them.

Christopher Nolan first proposed the idea of "Inception" to the studio in 2002, but then he did not yet have a script ready, which he was going to finish in a couple of months. And he finished only eight years later.
In 2008, Marion Cotillard and Ellen Page were both nominated for an Oscar in the Best Actress category. The statuette went to Cotillard.
"The Beginning" is the first film since the director's full-length debut, staged according to the original script (that is, not a film adaptation, sequel, etc.)
Another paradox lies in the fact that "overconceivable" cinema, the essence of which, allegedly, could not be understood even by the actors filmed in it, turned out, yes, large-scale, expensive - and rather transparent. Nolan completed the original synopsis, naturally, along the line and in place of the supposed sensation, he created a clear structure, where there was no more room for revelations and romantic speculation (except for the finale, where, choosing from two options, you also can't run away too much). All procedures for immersion in and out of sleep are described with an accuracy that could be the envy of anyone who had to assemble IKEA cabinets according to the instructions. And the subconscious itself is portrayed not by a dark sea of vague images, but by a strict four-tiered structure (the heroes fall asleep three times in a dream), guarded not by Freudian complexes and not even by Freddy Krugger, but by people with automatic weapons. In "Inception", which functions, in essence, as a collective "high movie", the shrinks themselves fool the unconscious with the help of the techniques that Danny Ocean and his friends used to bypass casino security systems. And although the heroes have to operate on one of the tiers, for example, in zero gravity, the same safe becomes their final goal.

In addition to submachine gunners, Cobb's late wife (Marion Cotillard) also fixes obstacles to burglars - more precisely, her projection generated by the subconscious of the hero who is responsible for the drama in the film and serves as an illustration of the popular belief that a lot of sleep is harmful. And it should be noted that DiCaprio, not for the first time playing a guy with problems in the perception of reality and already in the third film in a row losing his spouse, not only frowns with the usual persuasiveness, but will soon forget how to smile altogether.

Moreover, in the case of "Inception", this sacrifice will be meaningless, since Nolan started his epic not so much to explore the psychopathological depths of an undoubtedly rich topic as to demonstrate his own directorial dexterity - it is not "weak" for him to synchronize three or four with each other -five levels of action, each of which has its own physical laws and its own course of time.
Indeed, the director can only be reproached for spending 200 million on facing the unconscious with glass and concrete - the slabs themselves lie flat, and the glass shines dazzlingly.
