In the center of the plot is the outstanding British traveler Jonathan Green, who receives an order from Peter I and has to make maps of the country's eastern borders. To complete the task, he will have to go a long way, full of dangers and adventures. Fate brings him to China, where the cartographer has to make many amazing discoveries and meet previously unseen creatures. There he will also meet martial arts masters and the Dragon King himself.
Journey to China The Mystery of Iron Mask 4K ReviewCheerful, purposeful and skeptical about all kinds of unprecedented things, cartographer Jonathan Green receives a new order from Peter the Great himself to study the Far East. Thirst for knowledge and thirst for travel call Jonathan to the East and now his path lies through China. It would seem that the past adventures were supposed to cool the ardor of the scientist and convince him that there is still a little truth in the ancient legends. But, a mind completely devoted to science, does not pay attention to the ancient oriental legends about Lun-Wan, the King of all dragons. And now Jonathan Green will have to check on his own experience what is true in the legends and what is fiction. Believe me, it will be exciting ...
A wonderful modernized film adaptation of Gogol's classic work made a fairly good impression on the viewer five years ago. The dashingly twisted plot, which was full of surprises and exciting adventures, kept the viewer's attention throughout the entire timing. The characters turned out to be colorful, lively and memorable. Well, of course - after all, Smolyakov, Chadov, Zolotukhin, Ruslanova shone in that film - in general, almost the entire elite of modern Russian cinema. The presence of stately actors in such an epic international project added an incredible flavor to it, which can be called the "Russian spirit", from which the old fairy tale shone with new colors.
What can be added in the sequel? Right! A little bit of nostalgia. And how does it manifest itself? Yes, in that, along with new domestic actors such as Volya, Roebuck, Merzlikin, the idols of our childhood - Jackie Chan and Arnold Schwarzenegger - are magnificently presented to us in full glory. And they not only appear, as for example the same Arnie in Around the World in 80 Days, in a small moment, but unexpectedly interact strongly and give us an excellent duel, which is not only full of cool tricks, but also has a light touch of humor characteristic of these actors.
For all its pompous casting, the film is not busy exploiting the charisma and recognition of top-notch actors. The film shows a rather fascinating story, which, as in the first film, has many references to well-known ancient folklore and historical facts, and also casually hooks and captivates the viewer.
The film is packed with professional stunts and special effects that fully justify showing this film in IMAX 3D. In some places it simply turns into a furious attraction that tickles the nerves notably. Everything was filmed extremely professionally and even for me, as a sophisticated viewer, it was sometimes pleasant to realize that this film can practically be called domestic.
As a result, gorgeous entertainment for the big screen, which will be interesting for both children and, especially, adults, as they will try to give us an answer to the sacred question of childhood: who is stronger - Jackie Chan or Arnold Schwarzenegger?
