"Man from Steel" became a kind of "Batman: The Beginning" for the films about Superman. In this picture, Clark Kent still knows very little, understands little, and it is difficult for him to realize that he is not like everyone else. This film is about the beginning of the path of the most powerful superhero on Earth, which has become a symbol of truth and hope for all mankind.

Clark Kent | Kal-El | Superman - he appears before us as a lost "person" trying to understand his history and origins. He has too many questions not to look for answers, and he is ready to visit any corner of the planet to find out his purpose. Clark Kent does not become Superman, but he already feels what it's like to be Kal-El. Evil is ready to destroy his new world, and he must protect him and eliminate the threat that he himself brought. He must become the hero that humanity deserves. At the very beginning of the film, Clark Kent is an unformed personality, but by the end, feeling all his power and strength, and realizing the threat posed by his enemy, he becomes Superman - a "man" ready for sacrifice for those who need his protection . This is his destiny.

Henry Cavill - for choosing this actor for the role of Superman, the director of the film, Zack Snyder, condemned, for various reasons, absolutely everything. No one saw him as the protector of the Earth and the son of Krypton. No one except Zach Snyder himself. This choice was justified after the first poster with Henry Cavill appeared in the role of Kal-El. Everyone immediately noticed his resemblance to the performer of the role of Superman in the cult films of the 80s, Christopher Reeve. For the role of Cavill gathered the necessary muscle mass and appeared before us in perfect physical shape. Perhaps, this is the first film about Superman, where he is as close to his original view from comics without the help of special effects - strong, high, powerful and brutal.

General Zod is an ideal villain, strong, intelligent, hungry for power. Hatred, anger - this drives him, and he wants to avenge himself and his fellow citizens and return to his people the house they lost. He is a patriot, ready to die to achieve his goal. He wants to build a new world on the bones of people and for this, General Zod needs to eliminate the only "person" who can stop him.

Michael Shannon is a great game, brilliant. His Zod, strange as it may sound, sometimes wanted to sympathize, and this makes his villain great. Shannon managed to fall in love with absolutely everyone, his Zod is brutal, strong, and in his eyes there is a flame, a fire that leads him to the goal. Perhaps, for this character and for this actor's choice, Zack Snyder deserves the most flattering words, well, Michael Shannon himself - a storm of applause.

Lois Lane | Amy Adams - the actress has several times tested for the role of Lois Lane, and this time she was lucky, because Zak Snyder was looking for a man capable of portraying the love interest of Superman as a strong and purposeful woman, able to keep Clark Kent's secret. Lois Lane appears exactly like this, and in this regard, the audience could have contradictions. Despite the fact that Amy Adams is perfect for this role, the character created by Zak Snyder seems too far-fetched. A person can not so calmly behave, having just learned a secret of this magnitude. A man can not board an alien ship without the slightest reflection, without showing any sense of fear. However, it is clear why the director and writers resorted to such a radical move, because Lois Lane in this story should be brutal and strong, to look the most like a human version of the hero Henry Cavill, because only this way, perhaps, you can fall in love with an alien.

Jor-El, Jonathan Kent | Russell Crowe, Kevin Costner - two fathers, two different characters, but in one they are alike - for them Kal-El / Clark Kent was always the only son, their hope for the future, he led them and forced them to take extreme measures for the sake of the well-being of the future superhero. Jonathan Kent led Clark Kent all his life and thanks to this, Kal-El learned the truth about himself, while preserving his human face. Russell Crowe and Kevin Costner, as befits the actors of their level, played well, and there is a hope that in the continuation of the "Man of Steel" we will still meet their heroes.

All the other actors involved in the film played well, without interfering with the development of the plot, but only decorating it.

Zack Snyder has always been a master of visual effects, he brilliantly coped with this in "The Man of Steel", the picture turned out to be rich, interesting, exciting. All the actors were well chosen, that's what Snyder's films are, they do not have bad performers, and they always fit perfectly with the character's description. In terms of direction to him there can be no questions, everything was beautiful and cleverly done.
