Sing 2016

In a world inhabited by beasts, a koala named Buster Moon struggles to prevent the closure of his theater. As a result, Buster and his friend, Eddie's ram, arrange a contest of singers, offering to take part in every resident of the city.

In 2016, Illumination Entertainment studio presented us with two animated films: "The Secret Life of Domestic Animals" and "The Beast", and I want to consider the last one.

Plot

So, "Sing" tells us about a koala named Buster Moon, the owner of the once popular, but now almost destroyed theater. And one day he gathers his friends - the iguana of Miss Crowley and the school friend of lamb Eddie, to organize a song contest, the winner of which will receive 1000 dollars and thereby glorify the theater. But when creating flyers, Miss Crowley gets her glass eye (which will cause many amusing moments) and adds to the number 1000 extra two zeros, and our iguana, without noticing, sends them to the press. When the flyers fly into the hands of all our contestants, they, seeing the reward given for the victory, immediately run to the theater for auditions. Next and the fun begins, what you will see in the next one and a half hours of the film.

Characters

Every character in the cartoon has left a mark on my heart. Each person has been worked out in detail, each has its own unique character and memorable image. But most of all I would like to mention five heroes, namely the maiden-housewife Rosita, the lamb Eddie, the porcupine Ash, the "king" of shocking the boar Gunther and the opera diva, Eddie's grandmother, Nanu Nudleman, who immediately entered my rating of favorite characters. You can not ignore the antagonist picture - a worker of the bank, a lama named Judy, who reminded me damn well of her appearance and character the same "legal aunt" Molly Schultz from the video game series "Grand Theft Auto".

Soundtrack

This is the main trump card of the film (the songs here around 95!). It is immediately evident that the creators paid special attention to it. All the songs of the cartoon immediately fall into the soul, the main thing is that they are not all of the same genre, in theory, the film will be like any music lover. Here you and The Spencer Davis Group (Incidentally, their other song sounded in The Mignons, remember the meeting between Kevin, Stewart and Bob with the Nelson family), Lady Gaga, Queen, Elton John, Taylor Swift, Frank Sinatra, The Beatles and a lot -many other. Also worth noting are the songs written specifically for the cartoon of Scarlett Johansson, Stevie Wonder and Ariana Grande. Of course, I'm sure that this particular cartoon will get the "Oscar" for the best original song.

Humor

The only drawback of the cartoon is that it is not as fun and funny as the previous pictures of Illumination Entertainment. Of course, there are funny moments, for example, with the same Miss Crowley and her glass eye, still Gunther's antics during the performance of the song "Shake It Off" plus positive and lovely but not English-speaking small panda, speaking only Chinese, receiving all the words of Buster for the call to sing and dance. But, unfortunately, I never laughed at the cartoon in my voice.

The result

The cartoon turned out bright, enchanting, memorable. It has a deep moral, that there is nothing more important and closer than a family that will always be ready to support you and prove that you are the best! For the second time (in the sixth), Illumination Entertainment is proving that they can do cartoons, much better than Disney's. By the way, "Sing" came out much more interesting and instructive than the recent "Sing". As in the last review Pleymore said, indeed, "Impeccable victory!" Let's keep the cams for this Oscar cartoon.
