ReviewReturn of the LegendPopular in the beginning of the last century, the novel by the American artisan from literature - Edgar Burroughs, telling about the adventures of an English boy raised in the African jungle and brought up by a gorilla - heir of the noble family in the title of lord - was transferred from time immemorial to film. History knows a lot of both full-fledged adaptations of the book about Tarzan, and a few rather lengthy films - franchises. As in the big cinema, and especially for television (in the format of a multi-episode adventure series) - the book has adapted dozens of times. Canonical can be considered versions taken: Hugh Hudson - "Greystok: The Legend of Tarzan - the Monkey Lord" with Christopher Lambert (who did not turn into a still immortal Highlander) (1984), VS Van Dyke - "Tarzan: Man - Monkey "With Johnny Weismuller (1932) and -" Tarzan - Priemysh Monkeys "silent production of Scott Sidney with Elmo Lincoln (1918). What's new about the famous hero can say a new picture, directed by the director of the movie about Harry Potter? Yes, in general, there is nothing, as a matter of fact, a dozen written by Burroughs himself of the sequels that followed the original book that had a reader's success. On the basis of which, not for the sake of art, but for the sake of the dollar, the commercial writer decided to create an entire franchise, united only by the main character. Thus, the screenwriters who followed the first, successful attempts to transfer to the screen the prose of the American author (by the way, never personally seen in the jungle) films - and there was nothing to invent, there is enough potential for plots. It's strange that the authors of the new film adaptation Adam Kozar and Craig Brewer - just as their predecessors began to reinvent the wheel, instead of turning to the literary source. Nowadays it is not so well-known, and that to numerous books - continuations, so it is generally doubtful whether anyone from contemporary viewers would read them. Perhaps the scriptwriters of the "Legends of Tarzan" (which in our box office received an incomprehensible title - "Tarzan, The Legend"), several literary opuses of Burroughs, the new picture would have turned out to be more adventurous, and it would have collected less criticism from critics. Since it was possible to dump everything on Tarzan's "father" - we're not supposed to be ignorant - and Burroughs is a worthless scribbler ... But David Yates worked with a story written specifically for his project, which subsequently led to the quite anticipated spectators' "fi," and the gossip as to , that outside the framework of "Potteriana" Yeats - has no directorial grasp, and his blockbuster about Tarzan - has nothing to do with the books of Edgar Burroughs ...
