A story about a family and an 18-year-old son, who at one point says goodbye to all hopes for the future: a sports career, a relationship with a girlfriend, as well as a strong family with a demanding father at the head. Human passions and weaknesses let the hero go downhill.
Waves 4K ReviewWhen I first learned about this film and read the synopsis, I was not particularly interested in it. But in the future, he met too often in my life and was accompanied by rave reviews, so I had no choice: I had to watch.
Cinema rarely makes a strong impression on me and rarely suits my taste, but this work is almost perfect, this is what I have been looking for for a long time: high-quality and stylish work of a cameraman, editor, artists and composers.
The heartbreaking story of ordinary people, on whom terrible life circumstances fell, would not have been this if it were not for the good acting (I note Taylor Russell, it is wonderful) and almost the best, at least for me, soundtrack: A $ AP Rocky, Kendrick Lamar, Frank Ocean, Kanye West and cool, and most importantly, style-appropriate compositions written specifically for the film.
The film teaches to forgive, to judge a person not by one of his actions, but by his essence, because we are just people and we are not alien to make mistakes. I am very glad that in our era of pragmatism such talented and correct works are being done, but I am saddened that they are not destined to gain success among the mass audience.
