A member of the Cobra group enters the White House, posing as a president. He gives the order to destroy the detachment "G.I. Joe. " Only a few of its members survive. Now Roadbloku (Johnson) and his thinned team will uncover the plot of "Cobra" and save the world.
If the film is based on the adventures of 10-centimeter plastic toys, then the task of creating a masterpiece or opening new horizons in the world of cinema is clearly not worth it. No one will come to mind to compare "G.I. Joe: Throw Cobra 2 4K" with some kind of Oscar-winning film. From him, as well as from the source of his inspiration, only one thing is required: to entertain. No matter how stupid the viewer could think of "Cobra 2 Throw", the mood after the film should at least rise a little. However, the sequel is shot in a much more serious way than his predecessor - and it seems that his characters never remove lead body jackets.
It is assumed that you are well aware of what is at issue, because the action of the sequel begins with what the awkwardly ended the first film. The most important post in the world is captured by the sinister group "G.I. Joe: Retaliation 4K", which replaced the US president with a double. G.I. Joe "did not remain in debt, arresting two leaders of the" Cobra "- Destro (that with a silvery face) and the commander of Cobra (the one with nothing left on his face and no longer played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt). It is vaguely remembered that there were still some J-Joe Joe, but they were quickly eliminated by replacing Johnson's "Rock" with other equally memorable characters and Dwayne. It was expected that Johnson would be able to resurrect the series, but even for such a titan as he, this burden proved impossible.
"G.I. Joe: Retaliation 4K" promises too much, but too rarely fulfills its promises. With Johnson's hero, Roadblock, we get to know him when he is in friendly terms with Duke Hauser (Channing Tatum), the only significant figure left over from the first film. Their dialogues are long and horrifying, but in spite of everything these two are quite amusing. In a comic thriller, such a couple would be in their place, but here Tatum quickly disappears, and the gloomy Johnson remains alone. "Rock" - an excellent choice for the main role in the blockbuster, but he needs shading partners and humor. Later, along with Bruce Willis in the role of Joe-Founder, there is another chance for a flamboyant comedy in the spirit of "buddy-movi", but Willis on the screen also does not stay. It is unclear why it was necessary to remind the viewer time after time about how ridiculous this film might be.
Chu's director's work is absolutely lifeless. He absolutely does not extract anything from a good cast, and the action in his production boils down to randomly swinging his arms and legs. But the strangest thing is that you do not get any pleasure from the film 4K. Above the first "Cobra Roll" at least it was possible to laugh, in the sequel all the stupid ingredients of the original are preserved, but humor is absent.
