The first half of this picture, detailing in detail and impressively the preparations for the launch and launch of the Apollo 11 ship, really looks like a grandiose Hollywood movie show, shot with a grand scale and majestic pathos. On the one hand, one can seem to understand and forgive American filmmakers who did not want to overshadow the half-century celebration of a historical event, which, according to the aphoristic statement of Neil Armstrong, who was the first to step onto the lunar surface, was "a giant leap for all mankind." By the way, there was such a wonderful documentary film “For All Mankind” (1989) by Al Reinert, which, one might say, from a humanistic and even philosophical position captured the desperate and daring attempts of earthlings to conquer the Moon, the closest and only satellite of our planet.
But on the other hand, even in Shazell’s game tape, it was reflected that the flight and landing on the moon were not at all so smooth and problem-free. And from time to time this astronaut exclamation, which has already become sacramental, addressed the staff of the Mission Control Center in Houston, “Houston, we have a problem!” Sounded on the air. And there is also an honest and truly dramatic picture of Apollo 13 (1995) by Ron Howard, which you watch as an exciting thriller, even if you know that in the end everything worked out again in an incomprehensible way.

Paradoxically, the creators of the new Apollo 11 UHD documentary came out with almost patriotic propaganda, albeit spectacularly, colorfully made, quite in the spirit of Soviet films about the glorious conquest of space, where achievements were intensely extolled (which was quite fair), but were hushed up failures and catastrophes, or it was spoken about them somehow involuntarily and only in passing.
