The African American team is conducting a series of mathematical calculations for NASA to launch the first space mission.
Do you know that... When Taraji P. Henson agreed to perform the main role in the film and began to prepare for filming, she met with 98-year-old Catherine Johnson. The actress learned that her heroine graduated from school at the age of 14 and received a diploma of higher education at the age of 18. When Johnson was shown a screened and assembled film, she said that she liked it, and then asked who it had occurred to shoot a film about her.
In one of the episodes, colleagues from Catherine Johnson at work require her to use a separate coffee pot. In the film everyone drinks coffee brand Chock full o`Nuts. It is interesting to note that in 1957 this corporation became one of the first in New York with a color vice-president. He became Jackie Robinson (1919-1972), a legendary baseball player who had already finished his sports career. Moreover, Robinson was the first subversive of segregation barriers in professional baseball.
Some control panels shown in the MCC were created for the historical drama of Ron Howard "Apollo 13" (1995). They were also used in other films, for example, in both parts of the anti-utopia by Francis Lawrence "Hunger Games: Mockingbird" (2014 and 2015).
"Hidden figures": fighters of the invisible frontMarch 16 in the Russian box office there will be a film about three African-Americans who have made an invaluable contribution to the development of the American space industry. "Hidden figures" consider the problem of equality with the help of a topic that has not yet been studied, taking as the basis an absolutely incredible story for the 1960s.
Despite the fact that the film touches on the theme of racism and discrimination that is eternal in American cinema, it's rather Hollywood-like, it does not get worse from it. Now there are a number of genre cliches that you do not need to bypass. The brilliant mathematician Kathryn (Taraji P. Henson) and the engineer Mary (Janelle Monet) work in one department for color under the unofficial leadership of Dorothy (Octavia Spencer). One of them is better than many white men to understand the device of the spacecraft, but to increase it lacks the appropriate education, which is only a utopian dream for the blacks. The second - again knock on the closed doors of the authorities with a request for an increase in salary, and the third - they transfer to another department, in which she is clearly not welcome.
It is not difficult to guess whether all three heroines will cope with difficulties, but it is indisputably interesting to watch the barriers of segregation collapse. The beautiful soundtrack of Farrell Williams (who also acts as the producer of the film) adds dynamics to everything that happens. In the film there is no overly complicated mathematics, but Yuri Gagarin is present and an ardent desire to overtake the Soviet Union in the space race. As far as it was possible, history has already shown, but is it not pleasant to look at the attempts of people who sincerely believe in their work to make their country better? As is usually the case in this type of picture, the viewer will show the fate of each heroine, and be ready to wonder how much life likes to sneer at people.
Kevin Costner, Kirsten Dunst and Jim Parsons, not far from his usual role in the "Big Bang Theory", nicely complement the picture, in which the main place allocated to three black actresses. "Hidden figures" is definitely an interesting movie that performs an educational function (for the Russian viewer for sure), and also helps to clarify the specifics of the current American friction around the racial issue. When will you see a film about the arms race, where Americans are catching up with Russians, and the main characters are not bosses from the White House, but simple black mathematicians? 4k ultra hd premium Hidden Figures 2016.
