For everyone who found the "VHS era", Sylvester Stallone is one of the most iconic actors who repeatedly embodied the brilliant images of "action people", heroes acting without fear and doubt. This character, written and played by an unknown person, then a novice actor with a face defect, immediately lifted his creator to the top of glory, deserving both high box office fees, and critical acclaim, and the title of "symbol of the nation." The franchise was so popular that despite some mistakes, it lasted for 30 years. The 6th part, "Rocky Balboa" actually revived the career of Stallone, giving her a new breath. So sadder at the end of the tape was to see out of the ring Rocky, who did not win a strong opponent, but did not leave the defeated. It seemed that the whole epoch was disappearing into the shadow, which was confirmed by the actor's comments about the "fat point" in the history of the famous kinoboksera. An unexpected turnaround in the development of the franchise came at a time when, again, an unknown young cinematographer, Ryan Kugler, just taking off his full-length debut, proposed a further development that would restart the whole story, but did not slide down to a banal high-budget remake with fashionable actors. This was the story of Adonis Creed, the son of former enemy Rocky, who would like to continue the work of his father. It is worth to pay tribute to Stallone, that he believed in this young man and entrusted to his hands the brainchild of his life, played a crucial role in the career of the actor. Soon he became widely known for his drama "Station Frutivale" Kugler with new forces began to restart the history of the famous boxer, and it is worth agreeing: the project was a success.

The young Adonis Creed, who is the illegitimate child of a former rival, and then the best friend of Rocky - Apollo Creed, is adopted by his widow in memory of her husband. A well-educated young man, perfectly executed by Michael B. Jordan, with perspectives of good work and stable life grows out of the permanent inhabitant of special detention centers and boarding schools. But the genes are stronger: previously acting as an amateur, Adonis chooses the path of a professional boxer. Here he is waited by the road to fame, and the love of a young girl, a talented singer with progressive deafness, but the main thing is a meeting with the coach, a man who must change the whole life of Creed Jr. - of course, the great Rocky Balboa. His hero feels the inexorability of time, no health, all his friends have left, and with his own son it was not possible to normalize relations. "Old people here do not belong", the whole center of the Rocky universe now boils down to maintaining the working capacity of a family restaurant named after the late wife. And at that moment his boring life will suddenly acquire new shades, allowing him to return to his favorite work, even if in a different role.

Despite the seeming zashtampovannost movie, Kugler managed to level out all the "sharp corners" of the script, without slipping into vulgarity. His vision of the boxing film unexpectedly comes from a new angle, allowing to recreate and develop a non-personal, exciting and very emotional story. The message of the picture concerns both the themes of personal search in this world, themes of human alienation, and consideration of the eternal theme of "fathers and children". His Adonis did not turn out to be another dubolom who wanted to win a big title, but an emotional and big-hearted guy, whose external "steepness" is the shell for a sensitive and loving soul. He manages to find the strength to follow his vocation, and not convenience in life, love and real relationships, and not their imitations, his personal quest leads to the acquisition of a father whose presence he was deprived of for many years - a strong emotional connection with his mentor, which has become something big for Creed Jr., than just a coach.
