Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom 4K 1984 Ultra HD 2160p

The second part of the incredible adventures of renowned archaeologist and adventurer Indiana Jones. This time, the fearless Dr. Jones will travel to the heart of the Himalayas with restaurant singer Willie Scott and his faithful little assistant, Shorty.

Here, among the majestic mountains, the archaeologist and his companions will have to face the bloody cult of worship of the ancient Goddess of Death - Kali. Will Indiana become the next unfortunate person to die on the eerie altar of human sacrifice, or will he, as always, be able to break free from the clutches of fear and deal with the villains.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom 4K Review
After the deafening success of the first picture, comrades Spielberg and Lucas decided to continue the adventures of the famous archaeologist, adding some unrealized ideas of "Seekers ...", as well as a gloomy atmosphere, repeating the experience of the 5th episode of Star Wars. However, the result was not very successful. Yes, in general, the film was received with dignity, but with a decent amount of claims. With which ones - let's figure it out.

Plot: The film itself is a prequel (the events of the first part take place in 1936, and the second in 1935), which is a bit unusual. Indy, along with his new company (cabaret singer Willie Scott and little assistant Korotyzhka), after escaping from the Chinese mafia and a plane crash, find themselves in an Indian village, whose headman asks the heroes to return the stones of Shankara. The plot itself is exciting and interesting, largely due to the oriental flavor. Although the declared gloom does not smell here. Of course, there are some eerie scenes in the picture, but that's all. But there are a lot of funny and not very moments in the film.

Characters: This is where the claims really come in, with the characters. And the reasons lie not in the performers of the leading roles, but in the script. Only Indiana himself (Harrison Ford) remains at the height. This hero is still charismatic, and Ford tried to perform most of the stunts on his own (he could not do without injuries). The new girl Indy Willie (Kate Kepshaw) turned out to be a rather irritable character who accompanies every action scene, every second line with screams and squeals. Of course, it is not known how we would have behaved in her place, but all the same, an inflection is felt. There are no complaints about Krootyzhka (Jonathan Key Kwan), except for some of his cheating abilities. The villain in the person of the head of the Kali cult (Amrish Puri) remained at the same level of quality: worthy, but no more.

Atmosphere: Although the action is concentrated in India, the local flavor is captivating. The spirit of adventure has not gone anywhere: it manifests itself in the search for the McGuffin, and in the action scenes. As already mentioned, the film is not so dark - harsh scenes contrast with funny ones: somewhere it is successful, somewhere it is not.

Visual: If for you the plot and characters are in the 2nd place, and the action is in the 1st place, then "Temple of Doom" is an excellent choice. Locations, decorations, stunts, action (especially the carriage chase), graphics - everything is done at the highest level.

Music: The oriental melodies of the new John Williams soundtrack fit harmoniously. There is nothing more to add.

Temple of Doom is a great example of a good adventure film that, despite its flaws, is on par with its trilogy siblings. This picture is able to captivate the viewer and not leave him indifferent.
